Kilmichael is the only hotel on the island of Arran (and one of the
very few in the whole of Scotland) to achieve the gold star
award in the
Scottish Tourist Board's Grading and Classification Scheme. A gold
star means "an exceptional standard of
hospitality, service and cuisine well above expectations for hotels of
our grading".
Kilmichael is a past winner of The Taste of Scotland
"Country
House Hotel of the Year" award
as well as the Macallan
25 award which
honoured
just 25 restaurants in Scotland for being
"particularly recommended to the travelling gourmet".
We are also an AA Inspectors’ Choice Hotel, having featured consistently
in their Premier Hotels and Britain’s Best Hotels lists for twelve
years in succession.
